Its time for a decent entry! The date for this entry is wrong becos I continued writing on today (7th June 2009) Been busy due to my term tests and stuff.
Anyway, I am gonna blog about my mother's day event, Peranakan Ball.
I know I am very late but late better den never ryte? =P

Celebrated Belated Mummy's day with my mum.
Went to Singapore Indoor Stadium to watch 娘惹恋 ( loosely translate as Nyonya's Love )
English title is Peranakan Ball.

b4 heading out to there, my mum kept rushing me. I was like slowly painting my nails, washing my hair, choosing clothes n contacts. Den after that I dun have the time to put on thick makeup lahs. So just put makeup that is abit more heavier than school makeup. Feel really very uneasy actually. =(
But what to do? My mum kept rushing me. But when we reach, we very early lurs !!

Singapore Indoor Stadium

The House Setting ~ :) Look very similar from the show little nyonya ryte? =D
Except, it looks like a haunted house w/o its brightness.

I even went up near to the stage to take a photo lurs. really very paisehs lahs. I stood near the stage to take. Den the people on the front seat ( those who paid 118dollars ) were like looking at me. tink they from jeanette aw's fc bahs cos they were carrying banners with her name on it.

The House looks way better when it is brighter =D Really got the nyonya feel nia !!

See that lady wearing nyonya kebaya over dere mahs? She is talking to the mediacorp chairman. Wanna " tou pai" him de, but apparently I failed. But if u look close, should be able to see him. Dun play play ah, he sitting not at the 118dollars seat lors. He sitting at the 98dollars seat also. He is just one row infront of my row. Wth lurs? Even chairman also cannot sit at the 118 dollars seat. Hahaha.

And yahs, I also saw a big family consisting of adults and children wearing peranakan costumes. I presume they are from peranakan family. All of them wearing it lahs. damn nice. Haha, literally small nyonya, little nyonya, big nyonya, old nyonya nia !! :P

Oh yes, what is a mummy's day without my mummy?
Haha. My makeup so light lurs. And dunno y nvr look at camera also. haha ! My mum face smaller than me lurs. :( My face big nia. Haha ! Can see my flat nose come from her lo. Stop insulting my flat nose lehs !! Oh yeahs ! My eyes bigger also ! =D

With Flash. My face looks outrageously oily while mum looks good. Although got some freckles but hey hey hey ! Perfection with flaws kayz? =P

Ok, I am coming to the story already.
Let me say out the story in this blog entry. I know its kinda long-winded but its a memory sake for for me lahs . So whenever I wanna recall this play, I can look at this entry again. :)

And So... As the play starts...

Haha ! I know u have seen this pic perhaps for a hundred times liaoz. But its different okayz. Its from the Big screen in the stadium. Darn coolz lahs and its just infront of me. :)

The 3 Kaypoh Queens came out for a start. Can you make a guess on who they are?
The aunties that are behind me keep discussing on who are them lurs, in hokkein yakking away.

Anyway, they are *drumrolls*
CHEN TAI MING, HUANG ZHONG YAO AND AH BEN !! =D
Then the aunties behind me were like OH YAHS OH YAHS.

The 3 Kaypoh queens very very farnie lurs ! They say out alot of jokes making the audiences laugh. And their actions also.

They sang an English song teaching us the nyonya terms of our family. Like grandparents and uncle auntie etc. Seriously damn farnie !!

Before blogging about the play. let me introduce the characters that are inside the play.
DYT - Phillip Tan
Jeannette Aw- Bee Tin
Xiang Yun- Yue Niang
den still other characters like the 3 kaypoh queens, housekeeper, Phillip's Chor Chor and many. :)

And so, as the play officially starts.

The maids came out and started singing and jeanette aw came out too. The maids ignored her and continued singing.

She came out in her village girl plaits. Haha ! Cun Gu !!

She is singing to potray how her life is, just like a piece of blank paper which is very plain and uninteresting. Honestly, she sings well.

After which, XiangYun came out and complimented on her singing.
Darn funny lahs ! When Xiangyun said: I am YueNiang. Alot of the audiences laugh.
Jeanette was like: Yue Niang auntie, I am Bee Tin.
So funny lurs ! like 2 "yueniang " like that.
Anyway, BeeTin told Yue Niang that her life is just like a piece of blank paper and she wants some colour into it. She also told her about her dream whereby she dreamt of a handsome young guy being a chauffer and she is the girl beside him. She say she is very happy when she had that dream.

Next scene,
3 Kaypoh queens go find Chor Chor, and Philip Tan just came back from his game of polo. He damn shuai please !!

Chor Chor tell Philip Tan that she is gonna find him a nyonya wife in the peranakan ball. Even though he hates it, he still agrees due to fillial piety.

After this, he went to the kitchen and took some food and he saw BeeTin !

BeeTin thought he was a thief and he explained that he is a Chauffer and his name is Ah Shui.
When BeeTin heard that he was a chauffer, she was damn happy lurs ( becos of the dream she had )
(Think he looks darn farnie here)

She offered him some of her chicken soup.
He asked for her name, and she answered : " Drink your chicken soup bahs ! "
Philip Tan: Your name is " drink your chicken soup bahs? "
BeeTin just laugh laugh and walked away. And he keeps on calling her back, : Hey hey !! " drink your chicken soup bahs "

During the Peranakan Ball,

Olivia Ong came out and brought a Jazz rendition of Little Nyonya's theme song, Ru yan. She is very pretty and i love the new rendition of the theme song. Its seriously very nice, gives a different kind of feel.

And Bee Tin gets to attend Peranakan ball too becos YueNiang helped her. YueNiang seems to be her fairy god mother and gave her nice dress for the ball ! :)

And here, she realises the guy of her dreams, is the rich young master, Philip Tan which is the " chauffer, Ah Shui "

Looks really compatiable and so madly in love ryte? :)

The other girls. :)

And after which Philip Tan told Bee Tin that he wants to marry her. She told her that it is impossible bcos she is just a maid. She tells him she wants to leave.

BT: We can't be together, I am leaving.
PT: You can't go anyway, Singapore is very small, I can easily find you ( audiences laugh )
BT: I am going to take a bus !
PT: The bus company belongs to my family.
BT: I shall take a train then.
PT: The railway station, my dua pek kong has half of the shares there. Even if you want to take an airplane, I have ways to make it not to move.

LMAO. I know its not funny if i mentioned it just like that. But honestly, its damn farnie becos he said it in a straight face.
And when Bee Tin walked away, he pulled her so hard and hug her really very aggressive. Its damn damn damn romantic lurs !!

Wondering how is he gonna tell his Chor Chor that is he is gonna marry Bee Tin.

He kneels and begs his Chor Chor to allow him to marry her.

Obviously, his Chor Chor disagress lurs and say that she is only a maid and blah blah blah with the reputation stuffs.
After which, Yue Niang came and asked Bee Tin if she is willing to be her daughter becos she feels that they have alot of similarities. Bee Tin agrees and Yue Niang told Chor Chor that she is no longer a maid, but her daughter whom she will hand over the business to.
After some thoughts, Chor Chor agrees with the marriage. Wahpiang. so material can. And haha ! Yue Niang is a fairy god mother of Bee Tin.

So what does all these mean !!

HAPPY ENDING LURS !! =D

After the show, went to Siglap coffee bean eat cake n drink coffee.
